Xbox 360 Limited Edition Red Wireless Controller and Play & Charge Kit

This is the same controller with a nice new paint job just in time for Gears of War 2. It also comes with a play and charge kit which is why it is more expensive.

This controller is red with black outlining and it looks extremely nice. Also comes with a play and charge kit so that if you don’t have any batteries you can use this as an option. Really love the controller.

Purchased as xmas gift for my son. He is happy with controller. He is only using for himself and will not let any others touch it. Keeps it clean without any fingerprints except his. Received delivery before Christmas as Amazon promised.

I absolutely LOVE the red and black 360 controller. The 360 controller is one of the very best out there. While it doesn’t have motion control like the Wiimote or the PS3 controller’s sixaxxis, it’s by far the most comfortable to hold/use, and the most intuitively laid out. The PS3 controller is the absolute worst in that regard. Horrible, and in great need of a re-design. The 360 controller is just perfectly designed, at least for my hands and playing styles/preferences.
For the controller itself, 5 rating. For the red and black one, 5 rating. Highly recommended!

If you ask me, there seems to be very slight improvements made to this controller over the standard white ones. for starters the bumpers and triggers feel a little different and it seems like they’ve made very slight changes to the way the D-pad feels. All in all, my only complaint is that this controller still uses NiMH rechargeable battery packs. These batteries can go bad relatively quickly and have a “memory” effect. this means that if you use the rechargeable battery pack you should always let it run down to dead before charging it full again. One final issue I have with it is that when your battery pack does go bad, MS doesn’t sell the red battery packs separately.
Pros:
+slight improvements to button mechanisms
+nice color (if you like red)
Cons:
-Still uses NiMH battery packs (instead of Li-ion)
-red battery packs not sold separately
