Winter Sports 2 The Ultimate Challenge

This game has no training sessions. You’re thrown right into the competition at full speed. I’m mostly interested in slalom and ice skating. You start the slalom at full speed and those gates are far apart width-wise and it’s very hard to get the skier from one side to the other in time. When you miss two gates, you’re disqualified and have to go back to the beginning of the game, choosing a discipline and your name and country. Why not just be able to start over without going thru all that?
Also, alot of racing games show an inset of the course so you know what to expect. This game doesn’t do that. Some of the gates you can’t even see until it’s too late to make it thru.
The ice skating is a joke. I thought I would be able to have the ice skater go thru a routine, but she just twirls around in one spot and there’s a wavy line on the screen. You have to trace over the wavy line, and according to how well you trace that line, that’s how well she does the jump. How ridiculous!
I haven’t tried the other disciplines. I’m still trying to ski. But I’ve found out that if I play by myself in 4 player multi-player mode and choose three disciplines (Slalom, Super G, and Giant Slalom) then I can play 12 times without being brought back to the starting screen and have to input all the info in each time.
