The original PS3 dual shock controller is painful to my hands after extended hours playing. After I bought this, I could not feel any pain already. However, I noticed that during very cold weather, the analog right stick gets stuck and does not return to its center position. This happens if you pushed the analog stick to the lowest-left most corner. If you push it to the other corners, it returned to it’s original position. I think you have to keep on using it until the friction get’s smoothed out and it would now return to the center. An inconvenience that quality control should have tested. I read of the same complaints from other users too.

I’ve had this item for 6+months and have tried using it intermittently over that period of time.

As the title says, this controller is crap.

    1. Upon opening the package, it informs you that you need to insert the enclosed disk to install the drivers and software to use the pad. No biggie, I’m no stranger to this procedure. Problem: there is NO disk. After locating the website for this product and looking all over the sight for the pad (this has changed) I finally found the product info. I happened to find a download link for the drivers and programs that ‘need’ to be installed for the pad.

    2. I mainly bought it for MMO FPS games seeing as my keyboard/mouse is hard to use in some instances, especially flight. I plugged it in, and tried the basic set up to see what needed tweaking. Oh My God. No control whatsoever. A little movement on the stick equaled a complete spin to that direction. Pull back to look up, and your looking straight up. I figured the sensitivity needed to be calibrated. Even on the lowest setting, the damn thing still made my avatar look like it was epileptic. I would have had more control using my nose on the keyboard.

    3. Programming the buttons. Couldn’t have been more difficult. Considering there is no manual to instruct one in setting the configurations, its basically a ‘set it and try it’ procedure. Trust me when I say I didn’t enjoy restarting a game that takes 3 minutes to get into to see if my X button would reload a weapon.

    4. The “Slow down aiming” aspect (which is one reason I needed to try this pad) Works. To a point. If you are already aiming at your target, and it is not moving, at all, then it bogs down the movement enough to put the cross-hairs where you want it. HOWEVER, if you play MMO FPS games you probably know that NO ONE just stands still. Sniping with this “Slow down aiming” button was only feasible if the target was AFK or not very smart.

    Save your cash.

This controller was what I was looking for. It has that ps2 style which makes me comfortable and the rumble function works too. The only problem was that it was unclear how to set up some configs, but not that big of a deal.
