Playstation 3 Air Cooler
Straight out of the box this item did not want to fit snugly on the back of my PS3. I had to gingerly place it on and just hope it didn’t fall off. It did seem to help cool the console a little. Unfortunately, after 5 hours of use, it stopped working. I am not pleased with this product and I would not recommend it. I am returning it to Amazon.

There are a few things about this product people need to be aware of before they purchase this item:
Do not worry, this item will work to help keep your Play Station 3 cooler and help eliminate the worry of it overheating. It does snap on VERY easily, and if you accidentally knock it off, just line it up to the vents in the back or front, and it will snap back in place.
We had ours for about a year now, and it worked BEAUTIFULLY!!! But as time went on, and it got older the fans slowly went out. I soon discovered what I didn’t know, was that it was operating with only a few fans a month ago, and now, it is down to its last fan that is operational. This inter cooler NEEDS to be turned off EVERY night in order for it to stay operational. (Which is why we had ours for about a year.)It cannot be left on overnight, or it will be running incredibly slow, it will be overheating and don’t be surprised if a fan or two or three has burned out. As with all things, it will need to be cleaned (dusted) with a aerosol can of air. It helps the vents to stay clean and clear to operate the way it needs to. But, don’t get carried away, cause if you accidentally spray too much, then you run the risk of ruining your air cooler, and your ps3.
What I recommend is, if you need a inter cooler, then go ahead and buy this, but I suggest replacing it every 3-6 months. If it starts to show it is overheating a lot even when you turn it off every night, replace it!!!! This product works like I said, but unfortunately, it has a short life span.
I am looking at the new one that is the Intercooler TS. I hope it works ALOT better than this thing.

I just read another review stating that it does not fit the PS3 40gb. Wished I would have read that before purchasing. My fault, because it’s no good to me now. I actually broke the clip on the left side. Going to the website is useless. Copyright 2007 and does not appear to have been updated since, so support?, forget it. Not to mention I suppose the life time warranty. Would not recommend.

As to how this thing works I have no opinion, this just to warn the consumer that if you own a newer play station 3 slim forget using this product it will fit at all!!!!!!.

I was excited to have a cooler, more efficient PS3. I already lost one PS3 to heat exhaustion. So I ordered this for my new 160GB PS3 model, well somewhere along the line Sony changed the layout of the PS3 backside. This product will not fit on newer PS3′s. Not sure when the change was made, so I’m not sure which models it may or may not work with. It definitely fits my dead 40gb PS3 with the hardware PS2 compatibility, but not my new 160GB PS3. So three stars, because I don’t know if or how this product works, only that I can’t use it.
