  1. I started playing this game on line and liked it. Ordered it from Amazon–I play it every night. It is very addictive. Sometimes aggravating when you play against the computer. I think he (the computer) knows all the tricks!! Anyway it is fun and you lose track of time. So don’t think you are only going to play for a few minutes. I also like that you can retry the challenge instead of having to go all the way back to the beginning of the game.

This is a great game for the whole family. My 6 year old son really likes Zuma and wanted more like it, so we downloaded free trials for all Vista-compatible games from the Pop Cap website, and Peggle was good enough to buy. It’s addictive, so be careful. Kids like it because it’s relatively easy to succeed, and the game gives lots of positive feedback, along with a fireworks celebration and “Ode to Joy” when you complete a challenge. It’s also challenging enough to keep the grown-ups from getting bored.

Addition to original review: I would now like to add that this game is also addictive for my 76 year old father! One thing that makes this game nice is that isn’t timed, so it’s fun even if you don’t have quick reflexes. But it is still challenging because you can still strategize on “aiming” your balls. We like this game so much that we have also purchased Peggle Nights, which is more of the same. Great job, Pop Cap Games!

  3. I ordered Peggle only because it would make my total order large enough to get free shipping. This is one time when greed surely paid off! My husband and I are both so addicted to playing it that the games I knew I wanted just sit in the computer and wait. On the other hand, my greed may turn out to be expensive – we may have to buy another computer rather than share.

I bought Peggle for something to do during downtime because the reviews were very good. It may be good for small kids but where is the challenge for anyone older than 10 yrs? You aim and shoot the ball and it just bounces around where you’re hoping it hits the target pegs. Defeating a level or achieving a good score depends on luck more than anything else. There’s nothing you can do to change the direction of the ball once it’s released such as in a pinball game. Though I only got through half of the Adventure mode, most of the levels look and play alike. If there is a challenge to Peggle somewhere in later levels or other modes, it’s really not worth wasting any more time trying to find it. I would put the age range on this game somewhere between 5 yrs to 10 yrs and 10 yrs is pushing it. With the technological sophistication that even younger children have these days, I believe that most of them would find Peggle boring and unchallenging also. There’s many other software games that would better challenge the mind of today’s kids than Peggle.
