Nintendo DS Lite Protector – Clear
Bought this item for my daughter to use with her new Nintendogs Nintendo DS game system. Great buy! Not expensive and she loves it. Has not taken it off the system since she got it. Will keep her DS in new condition preventing any scratches from occuring. Has very cute Nintendogs on the front of the case. Is also clear/see through and allows you to see original color of your DS!

I got the Hori Clear Protector (Black) for my DS Lite and I’m quite pleased with it. It seems sturdy enough and is really easy to fix on and remove off. It also fits the DS Lite quite snugly and appears to offer decent protection against scratches and lite bumps etc. However, don’t count on this protecting your DS Lite if you drop it. I don’t think it’s meant to act as a shield against strong blows.
Pros
+ From Hori, which I believe is an official supplier of Nintendo accessories (they have the official Nintendo seal).
+ Reasonably priced.
+ Easy to fix on and remove off.
+ Seems sturdy and offers decent protection against scratches & light bumps.
+ Doesn’t look cheap or tacky.
+ Quite light on its own so it doesn’t add too much weight to the DS Lite.
Cons
- May (though I’ve not had any reason to suspect) cause scratches on the DS Lite if you are rough when trying to fix on or remove off the case.
- The black case is not solid black. Rather, it’s translucent / opaque.
Overall
A pretty decent buy if you want to protect your DS Lite. There may be better alternatives out there but Hori is a well-known brand (they carry the official Nintendo seal) so the quality should be reliable.

This product saved my sanity! My DS Lite console fell out of my bag and onto the floor, and the DS game that was in it popped out…only a couple of days after I got them! I immediately tried them out and was relieved and happy to find both the console and game still in perfect working order. Not only does this hard, clear case protects the console from dirt and scratches, it’s easy to attach and remove. When it’s attached to the console, everything is accessible so you can play/change games, adjust the volume, insert/remove the touch pen, attach/remove the charger-adaptor/headphones, etc.! The bright, pretty colors of the various Mario characters on the top of the case look really nice with my crimson/black console (it’d probably look nice with any of the other colors as well). I’m glad I got this excellent and affordable product!!!

This is a great protector. We have bought our daughter the Metallic Rose DS, and this protector shows the nice color through, and the puppy on the front is nice (it doesn’t take up the whole cover).

I have a Zelda sticker on my ds and i like showing it off so i got this case. The thing works great i work in a retail store and keep my ds in my pocket and iv bounced it off things multiple times and and its worked like a charm at preventing damage to the ds its actually hard to even see it’s there. the one downside is that i have a third party charger i use in my car and it wont fit properly when the ds is in the case but thats not Hori’s fault they cant test there products with every possible accessory. All in all its a sound investment and i highly recommend it
