Nancy Drew: Secret Of The Scarlet Hand

This is possibly my favorite Nancy Drew game to date.
Nancy has a job as a deputy curator at a museum in Washington, D.C. The Beech Hill Museum is about to open a major exhibit of Mayan artifacts. Early parts of the game allow you to learn the controls while teaching about both Mayan history and the science of preservation. It also broaches the delicate subject of who owns ancient artifacts, providing several different viewpoints.
And then, just when things seem to be normal, a carving of King Pacal is stolen, with only a note marked by a giant red hand print left behind. With a lab of scientific equipment behind her, Nancy’s ability to study and analyze clues is expanded, and the modern mystery melds well with the history lesson and Maya cultural puzzles and quizzes.
My only complaint is a brief interlude where you have to use a glow stick as a light source during a timed challenge. I just dislike challenges where you can only see what is in a small area around the cursor.
For the technical standpoint, the downloadable version of the game is compatible with Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7. I did have a slight glich during one game, but I suspect that was my computer rather than the game, as it didn’t occur when I replayed it.
