The concept of this product is awesome. I need something that holds a lot of games and this seemed perfect. I loved that it was thin and held 24 games neatly in a case that zipped closed. The exterier is great and very cute but the interier plastic sleeves are so cheap. Within the first few times of slipping a game in or out of the game slip it tore on one side. After a few weeks of use the middle pages came completely loose and is now not even attached. I pretty much just have to stick those pages back in the middle before zipping it closed. The item description lists this as ‘high quality’ but I would love to actually find a great quality item like this that was actually high quality! I would recommend anyone to pass on this item.

  2. I bought this because I wanted a cute way to store my DS games. It is cute but the plastic pocket flaps inside are very cheap and two fell from the binding within a few days of using. This would be a great item if the storage pockets weren’t so cheaply made and installed.

  3. There aren’t many items available that hold many DS games, but this Pouch Holder reigns supreme at a whopping 24 game capacity. If you’re anything like I am and buy what averages out to be a DS game a month, then this is definitely a great addition to your DS accessory collection.

The case itself has a faux-leather exterior, and does have a cheap feel to it but looks pleasant at least. The inside plastic sleeves also have a cheap feel, and if this is for a child I could easily see the thin plastic shells getting ripped easily. Aside from being cheaply made, if you care for your possessions, this is a great solution to the DS cases that take up a lot of space. I like to keep my cases, but they are now boxed up and out of the way, while this pouch is only slightly wider than a DVD case.

I would have given this 5-stars if this were sturdier, but otherwise an excellent product.

  4. Finding places to store my DS games has always started to be problematic the moment I bought more than 16. I originally stored them in little carrying cases that came with a starter kit I bought, but it eventually started to get messy and confusing when I began to own more games than I did carrying cases. Additionally, most DS game cases will only hold 3-4 at most, and usually loose enough that it worried me if I was on a trip and had to switch the games while huddled up in the middle seat of a plane.

I usually don’t keep my games in their original boxes. I put the game boxes up for display on a shelf so I don’t lose them, and I keep all the discs in CD wallets, which are easy to find, cheap to buy, and convenient to carry around and store my games. There was currently no similar solution for my DS games until I found the Penguin United pouch holder. This product can be summed up as a CD wallet for DS games, as it contains several pages of pouches that snuggly fit your DS games. While you will not get the protection of a carrying case, for those of us teen/adult gamers (or responsible parent/child gamers), this is a great solution when you’re DS games just start to pile up.

The outer cover of the pouch is fairly sturdy and zips up like most CD wallets do, but I wouldn’t trust it to withstand any sort of abuse, i.e. throwing it, putting it under heavy weight, etc. And the pouches on the inside, while they may fit the DS cards snugly, feel a little on the cheap side. In fact, when putting my games in for the first time, I managed to tear a few of the pouches. However, once you get your games in there for a few minutes, the pouches loosen up a little and allow you to move your games in and out with little to no trouble. Just don’t go about leaving the whole thing open on the floor for someone to step on, as I’m fairly certain you’ll turn your 24 DS games in several ounces of useless plastic.

All in all, great for game collectors and responsible/adult gamers, as there are not many storage solutions for holding more than 3-4 DS games in a single place. Plus, since this pouch comes in multiple colors, you can buy 2 or 3 of them and have an easy means of organizing your games. It does seem a little strange, though, having a penguin with the letters PU on it embroidered at the bottom corner of the pouch. [insert clever joke about how much this product stinks]

This is similar to a cd case inside with each game held in a plastic sleeve. I love the size and that it zips shut to hold all the games. Its perfect and slightly smaller than the DS itself. I am unsure how long the sleeves will hold since its for an 8 & 5 year old but even then they would tape together easily. It looks pretty sturdy though. I am so glad we found it and would purchase it again if needed. Stores plenty of games!!!
