Age III was a great game and I was looking forward to adding more civilizations. I never ever had problems with Age III until I added the Asian Dynasties. Now almost every game is interrupted with freezes that can only be fixed by shutting the whole system down. I have reinstalled the game twice and it hasn’t fixed anything. I am waiting for a patch, but don’t see anything yet. Anybody else having this problem on Macs?

Some original material including, Japanese, Chinese and Indian civilizations, but some older cultures and scenarios are included. Sometimes hard to win even on Easy setting. If you liked earlier Age of Empires games, you will like this one.

Following are the great things about the game:
~ Continues to have the same kind of detail level that made AOE III so popular. At some points it is even better
~ Buildings are more detailed and its nice to see that the details behind the architecture have been looked into. The buildings in the Indian campaign is really nice!
~ The theme music has been nicely mixed to include Indian instruments such as the Sitar and Tabla. That was a pleasant surprise
~ Campaigns are just about the right length. They have not been made unnecessarily long.
~ Faster loading times
Cons:
~ For the Mac version, it hangs at times and at those times, there is no other option but to do a Force Quit
~ It takes a while (sometimes) for the system to understand that the objective has been met.
Overall, this game lives up to the standards that have been set by its predecessors. Give it a 4 star overall.

VERY good. One of the few iMac games that are fun and available. It provides many hours of fun for teens and adults, from beginner to pro. A great continuation of the 1st Age of Empires game.
